How Far Are We Willing to Go?

The other day, Sandy and I talked about how the moral picture of society has changed so much over the years and so many just seem to accept that which they never would have accepted years ago. For example,

  • As former law enforcement, after seeing all the destruction and counseling literally hundreds of individuals who have had problems with marijuana use... I never thought that it would be legalized today.

  • As one who places a huge value on human life, I would have never thought that things like abortion and euthanasia would be so readily available in today's society.

  • Then... after all I have learned in my life about what the Bible says about sexual sin, I would have never thought that people... Christians... would becomes so numb to the Word that they would justify sexual sin, just because it has become a social norm.

  • To top it all off, I have been reading some information that has come from researchers out of several prominent U.S. universities who participated in a Baltimore conference a few years ago who is beginning to pave the way to "normalize pedophilia". This group refers to a pedophile as a "minor-attracted person". The group calls itself, "B4U-ACT", which is made up of pro-pedophile activists and mental health professionals. I never thought that I would ever see such a thing even being considered.

So, again... my question is... how far are we willing to really go as a nation?

2 Timothy 4:3-4... "For a time is coming when people will no longer listen to sound and wholesome teaching. They will follow their own desires and will look for teachers who will tell them whatever their itching ears want to hear. They will reject the truth and chase after myths."

2 Timothy really hits the nail on the head. Personally, I believe that time is already here. I have met so many people who no longer accept or listen to "sound and wholesome teaching" from God's Word and have turned from being a follower of Jesus Christ to being a follower of the World, which changes at every whim. I have heard people point out perceived contradiction in the Bible without really having an understanding of the Bible, much less made any attempt to pick it up for quite some time. You see, people are getting sucked into a trap of Satan. The Word says, "The thief’s (satan) purpose is to steal and kill and destroy. My (Jesus) purpose is to give them a rich and satisfying life." (John 10:10). My prayer is that we, America, will wake up before it is too late. You see, this has nothing to do with "hating" a particular group (as some would try to claim). It has everything to do with something more eternal called, salvation and everlasting life in heaven. I am fully aware that there may be some of you who will "unfriend" me or even "block" me. If that it so, I am so sorry... i will miss you. However, I cannot just stand by and watch people, I so deeply love, fall away. Sandy and I have had the blessed privilege to meet and minister to hundreds of people throughout the years. I love you whether you are believer, atheist, straight or not... I love you with all my heart. If you were drowning in the ocean, I'd jump in and save you. At the same time, if you were headed to hell in a handbag, I would do everything I could to set you free.

You see, the Lord is near. the Bible says, "the nations will be in turmoil, perplexed by the roaring seas and strange tides. People will be terrified at what they see coming upon the earth, for the powers in the heavens will be shaken. Then everyone will see the Son of Man coming on a cloud with power and great glory. So when all these things begin to happen, stand and look up, for your salvation is near!” (Luke 21:25-28). God bless you. Hope you still love me. Pastor Todd Inman
